How the calculator works.
What does the NGX Stock Calculator do?
It shows what an amount invested in an NGX-listed stock on a past date would be worth today, using real daily prices from the Nigerian Exchange. It helps you see how a stock has actually performed over time.
How is the result calculated?
Your amount buys shares at the stock's price on your start date. Those shares are then valued at the stock's price on your end date. Value = shares × end price, and profit or loss = value − amount invested. The Dollar value uses the official CBN USD/NGN rate. Results are an estimate to help you understand performance.
Does it include dividends, bonus shares, fees or taxes?
Not yet. The result is based on price movement only and does not include dividends, bonus shares awarded by the company, brokerage fees, SEC/CSCS charges or taxes, so your real-world return could differ.
How far back does the data go?
Daily prices go back to January 2020 for NGX-listed stocks. Stocks listed after that date can only be calculated from their first trading day.
